Black Friday and a Blog award

I wonder how many of you are going shopping today?  I'm sorely tempted but I hate fighting the crowds on Black Friday.  Some people are just not nice on the first shopping day after Thanksgiving.  I did it one year and vowed never again. I know there are lots of savings to be had but the aggravation is just not worth it. So I'm staying home and will save my shopping for tomorrow.  Hopefully, the crowds will be a little lighter tomorrow. What I want to get is on sale tomorrow as well so I should be OK as long as they don't sell out.  If they do sell out, I'm ok with that too because it will be good for the economy.  It's still early I can wait for them to restock.

Not long ago I joined the Millande Creativity Club and I made friends with several wonderful and giving women.  One of these wonderful women gave me my first blog award. I'm so touched and appreciative.  For someone as shy as I am, this is a huge deal because of what the award is for....friendship.

proximityaward My sweet, supportive and creative new friend, Brenda, was the one who has awarded me my first blog award. This award states that: This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends, they are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these artists.

Such a nice award - I am pass it on to the following 8 bloggers, in no particular order, because they are all so friendly, supportive and giving people with so much to say through their art:

Francine, Anne, SandyMary, Kathryn, Jennifer, John, and Christy

Thanks for reading.

  1. Thank you for such a sweet award! I recognize many of the bloggers who you have awarded. I'm in good company.

I too avoid the Black Friday madness. This year the actual number of presents that I am buying is down, way down. I'm afraid that I might be missing something. I'm making most of the gifts this year and I have most of the supplies needed. While others are scurring from store to store, I'm tucked in like one of Santa's elves.

    Happy Holidays!

  2. Thank you very much for the kind award Linda. I made the mistake of going out (for normal household shopping) and ugh I forgot it was 'Black Friday'. Oh well, I did get what I was shopping for and back home in pretty good time. Now I am working, but hopefully I will have some art time this weekend!

  4. Hi Linda, thanks for thinking of me with this award. I feel very honoured.

Don't know what your black friday actually is like but if it's like the start of the new year sales in the UK then I heartily agree - I keep well away.

  5. Congrats on receiving your award! It's very much deserved. Thank you so much for thinking of me while passing it on! I feel very flattered.

I avoid the Black Friday mess as well. It's such a mad house anywhere you go. From this day on I try to avoid shopping malls and Wal-Mart during normal hours until mid-January.

  8. Hi Linda,

The lovely fabrics and other goodies arrived today! Oh how I just love the rich colors of the partridge in a pear tree design. I can't wait to find a use for these goodies. My son had fun looking through the items when it came in. I think he may have his eye on the beads.

    Many thanks!
